1 August 2018 – Earth Overshoot Day and AFPA’s National Forestry Planting Day

Today marks the date when globally we have used more resources from earth than we can renew in the remainder of the year. Did you know Earth Overshoot Day for 2018 is a day earlier than last year? That is not good news.

Planting trees is a great way to renew resources, and happily this year AFPA's National Forestry Planting Day coincides with Earth Overshoot Day. Today let's celebrate our forest industry - one of Australia’s most sustainable and renewable, and its positive environmental contribution.

By planting more trees, perhaps next year Earth Overshoot Day will be later.
